AJR’s consultants are Jan Mills Spaeth, Ph.D., and Rosalind Greene, J.D. (see bios below). As active members of the American Society of Trial Consultant we have affiliations and work relationships with consultants throughout the U.S., allowing us to collaborate when the needs and interests of clients benefit from this. AJR staff conducts in-house recruiting for focus group and mock trial projects, and assists consultants with reports and data tabulation.



Jan Mills Spaeth, Ph.D, Consultant

Jan Mills SpaethJan Mills Spaeth, Ph.D., trial and jury consultant, is the founder and owner of AJR. Since 1980, she has worked locally and nationally in all aspects of trial consulting for both criminal and civil matters. Criminal cases include murder, attempted murder, death penalty cases, narcotics, sexual assaults, robbery, kidnapping, bombings, fraud, and other white collar crimes. Civil cases include medical and legal malpractice, product liability, bad faith, excessive force, personal injury, contract and patent disputes, and civil rights violations among others. With the American Bar Association, Dr. Spaeth published 2 DVDs on witness preparation, Witness Preparation for Depositions and Witness Preparation For Trials. They are designed for inexperienced, lay witnesses to view prior to testifying. (Click here for more information.) A second edition of this DVD set was published with the ABA, with Spanish and Chinese subtitles. Dr. Spaeth published also a second set of DVDs on witness preparation with the ABA, “Strategic Witness Preparation.” This is a 4.25 CLE on witness prep.  (Click here for more information.)  Dr. Spaeth has written extensively on legal issues (over 90 publications), including jury selection, trial simulations, witness preparation and case strategy. Many of these are available in AJR’s Publications section.

Dr. Spaeth has been a seminar/CLE presenter, instructor, and guest speaker for legal organizations, including the American Trial Lawyers' Association (ATLA), the National Business Institute, the U.S. Attorney's Office, the Arizona Trial Lawyers' Association, Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice, and the Arizona Society for Health Care Risk Management.  She conducts CLE’s for county and state bar associations, and the American Society of Trial Consultants.  She has also been a frequent guest on television and radio talk shows, and news broadcasts. Dr. Spaeth has been an educator for the University of Arizona, Pima Community College, and Cochise Community College. She possesses a Doctorate Degree in Psychology (California Coast University), an Interdisciplinary Master's Degree in Communication and Psychology (University of Arizona), and B.A. degrees in Psychology and Social Welfare (University of Wisconsin). She is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Society of Trial Consultants, and the American Psychological Association.




Rosalind Greene, J.D., Consultant

Rosalind GreeneRosalind R. Greene, J.D., trial and jury consultant, received her J.D. from the University of Arizona and served as Research Editor for the Arizona Law Review. Ms. Greene is a licensed attorney in Arizona as well as an adjunct professor at the University of Arizona, teaching Communication in the Legal Process. She also received a B.A. degree in Communication, with high distinction, from the University of Arizona. Prior to consulting, Ms. Greene practiced with Snell & Wilmer for eight years, primarily in areas of general litigation with an emphasis on product liability. She has also worked extensively in mediation having been a Judge Pro Tempore Settlement Master and a mediator with JAMS / ENDISPUTE, U.S. Arbitration & Mediation, and the Arizona Attorney General's Office.

Rosalind Greene combines her legal training and experience with her communication expertise to provide consulting services in witness preparation, jury selection, mock trial and focus groups, case strategy sessions, and settlement negotiations. She has been a CLE seminar presenter for the Arizona State Bar, the Arizona Trial Lawyers' Association, The Pima County Bar Association, the Alternative Dispute Resolution section of the State Bar, and the American Society of Trial Consultants. Rosalind has also presented to the Arizona Supreme Court Committee on the Impact of Wireless Mobile Technologies and Social Media on Court Proceedings. Her academic achievements include induction into the National Honor Societies of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. Ms. Greene is a member of the American Society of Trial Consultants and is the Chair of its Professional Standards Committee. She is also a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the Pima County Bar Association, and the Arizona Women's Lawyer Association. She has written extensively on legal matters, and a number of her articles can be found in AJR’s Publications section.




Susan Mitchell, Project Manager

Rosalind Greene Susan Mitchell is AJR's Project Coordinator, and assists in recruitment, project coordination, and reports. With a B.A. Degree in Theology, Susan is skilled in speaking, training and teaching. Susan proficiently and efficiently assists in the statistical analysis, tabulation and compilation of survey and trial simulation research. Susan is well trained in computer science, and is knowledgeable in a wide range of tabulation and software programs.
